Title: Frontline
Artist: Pillar
Album/Year: Where Do We Go From Here? (2004)
Jessica's Analysis
Pillar's "Frontline" is a good 'get-psyched-up' song. As is the case with most (if not all) Christian bands, there is controversy over the writer's intent: is the song always Christian because the band is? Either way, the song is about standing up for what you think is right. Obviously, from the title, it's apparent that the song is written on the basis and using the terminology of a military scenario. (battle cry, front lines, fight to live, live to fight, lead the way) Here's the breakdown: "Frontline" is a song that inspires you to rebel against the popularity of society and to remember what you believe in. It encourages you to be a leader and take action.
