Project Lyrical Genius: How It Works

Possibilities are endless with Project Lyrical Genius.

On the project, you may:

-Submit lyrics you've written.

-Submit lyrics to your favorite songs.

-Search for lyrics by keywords, genre, artist, or title.

-Request lyrics not already present on the project.

-Submit your analysis on lyrics already in the project.

-Be an active part of the project and submit ideas for improving it.

The home page only shows lyrics posted today (whatever day you are viewing the site.) To view more lyrics, scroll down to the archives. If you have a certain lyric, idea, title, or artist in mind, use the search tool just below the "Project Lyrical Genius" heading.

Since Project Lyrical Genius is still growing, I empathize with other new bloggers. If you would like recognition for your blog on the Project, please contact me. My contact information is available in multiple places on the blog. Please enjoy the project and contact me with questions, concerns, or ideas!

Format for Submitting Lyrics for Analysis

If you would like to request lyrics for Project Lyrical Genius, please include the following components:

-The shortened lyric.

This would be the first thing after the title you would see in an existing P-LG post.

-The version of the song you would like to show up in the "Song and Video" link if there are variations.

For example, if you want an acoustic version, studio version, album version, etc. If there is no difference between the versions, you do not need to specify.

-Your name and contact information if you would like recognition for the lyric.

You may leave your request as a comment, or you can e-mail it to me with the subject title "Lyric Request."

Format for Submitting Your Personal Analysis

If you want to submit and analyze your own lyrics or add your analysis to a lyric already on Project Lyrical Genius, please include these components:

-The shortened lyric. (see description above)

-The version of the song you would like to show up in the "Song and Video" link if there are variations. (see description above)

-Your name (or the name you would like to show up in _________'s Analysis), and contact information if it's different than the e-mail account you contact me with.

-In your analysis, please follow the format of the other posts. First, your opinion of the song: likes, dislikes, other information. To tell what the song is about, include the "Here's the breakdown:" portion.

Since this is a more lengthy message, it would simplify things greatly for me if this submission was through e-mail. My e-mail address is jessica_packard17@msn.com; please put the e-mail title to "Analysis Submission." This way, I won't write you off as one of the gazillions of junk e-mails I get. Once you have everything ready, send me the e-mail! I will get a confirmation e-mail to you as soon as possible. Thank you so much in advance!

***Please note that all analyses are subject to editing changes by yours truly. I'll correct your grammar and spelling to keep the site looking spiffy. Also, I will adjust color and style when I post it. Please refrain from too much foul language--- if I think it's too much I'll edit some of it out.
